The Bullets (0-4, 0-2 CC) continue their search for their first win of the season as they host the Ursinus College Bears (2-1, 1-0 CC) in a Centennial Conference match-up during Family Weekend at Gettysburg College.

Series Notes
Gettysburg leads Ursinus 30-17-4 in the all-time series that dates back to 1903. The Bullets have won five of the last six meetings, with the Bears only victory over that stretch coming in a 16-13 win in Collegeville in 2005. Ursinus has not won in Gettysburg since their 38-36 victory in 2000, losing their last three at the Battlefield.
Last Time
Out Muhlenberg scored on five of its last six possessions and the seventh-ranked Mules won on their homecoming, topping Gettysburg 42-21 in Centennial Conference action on Saturday in Allentown. The Bullets trailed just 7-0 after the first quarter against the defending conference champions, but the Mules scored a pair of touchdown late in the half to build a 21-0 halftime lead. The Bullets pulled to within 14 points three times in the second half, but the Mules answered with a touchdown each time. Muhlenberg, which won its 14th consecutive regular season game, received 245 yards on 17-of-27 passing from Eric Santagato, who connected with Phil Cresta eight times for 128 yards. Tailback John DeLuca added 134 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Mules. Junior quarterback Matt Flynn completed 21 of 33 passes and threw for 259 yards for Gettysburg while junior wing Ricky Manigat caught seven passes for 56 yards. Senior tailback Nick McConnell added a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs while sophomore Jamel Mutunga finished with 60 yards and one touchdown on 12 carries.
Ursinus, which is coming off a bye week, defeated Juniata College 21-17 in its Centennial Conference opener two weeks ago. Senior quarterback Nick Dye scored the game-winning touchdown on a 23-yard run with 6:19 left in the game as the Bears won despite blowing an early 14-0 lead. After Ursinus scored a pair of first-half touchdowns, the Eagles went on a 17-0 run to open up a three-point lead early in the fourth quarter. Dye threw for 200 yards and one touchdown on 17-of-31 passing and rushed for an additional 51 yards on eight carries. The Ursinus defensive secondary had a big game, breaking up 16 of Juniata’s 54 pass attempts. Senior cornerback Billy Stolle and junior safety Eikeem Barron broke up three passes apiece while senior defensive tackle Adam Kabacinski came up with a team-high 10 tackles, including one of the team’s five sacks. Junior tailback Marc Jaskowski finished with 65 yards and a 3-yard touchdown on just 13 carries for the Bears while junior receiver Shea Wisler caught five passes for 52 yards.
Flynn Hits 4,000
Against Muhlenberg on Saturday, junior quarterback Matt Flynn became just the second Bullet in school history to surpass the 4,000-yard career passing mark. He now has 4,011 yards and trails only Dennis Flaherty ’01, who threw for 5,136 yards from 1997-2000, on the all-time list. Flynn is also four touchdowns away from tying Flaherty’s school record of 33 touchdown passes and three TDs shy of tying Jim Ward ’66 for second.

Tailback Tom Sturges ’08 ran for 167 yards on 33 carries while safety Kyle Luciano ’08 had a huge defensive game as the Bullets handed Ursinus its first loss of the season, defeating the Bears 21-7 at Patterson Field.Gettysburg out-gained Ursinus 411-289 and held the Bears to 66 yards rushing.The Bullets took the lead for good when Sturges peeled off a 36-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter, making it 14-7. Luciano led the Bullet defense, which forced six turnovers and came up with six sacks, with two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, an interception, and six tackles. Defensive end Josh Jerrold made a team-high eight tackles, including 2.5 for loss and a pair of sacks, for Gettysburg while linebacker Jim Holubowich ’08 came up with a fumble recovery and an interception to snuff out two late Ursinus drives. Defensive end Conor Quinn added seven tackles, including 2.5 for loss, while linebacker Harold Barton ’08 made seven tackles, a pair of sacks, and an interception. Nick Dye completed 15 of 29 passes for 223 yards for the Bears but was also intercepted three times. Mike Weyrauch caught seven passes for 85 yards and a touchdown for Ursinus while Aaron Harper ran the ball 20 times for 76 yards. Scouting Gettysburg
The Bullets continue to post impressive offensive numbers this season, as they amassed 356 yards of total offense against a Muhlenberg defense that was ranked 13th in Division III on Saturday. Led by junior quarterback Matt Flynn, Gettysburg is currently leading the Centennial Conference in pass offense (249.8 ypg) and is one yard behind Muhlenberg for the conference lead in total offense (416.0 ypg). Flynn leads the CC in those two categories, racking up 232.5 passing yards per game and 256.2 yards of total offense per game. Sophomore tailback Jamel Mutunga leads the Bullet rushing attack, which is averaging 166.2 yards per game, with 328 yards and three touchdowns. Senior tailback Nick McConnell has added three rushing touchdowns for the Bullets while junior wing Ricky Manigat leads the team in receptions with 22. Sophomore wing Charles Curcio is enjoying another fine all-around season, averaging a team-best 129.5 all-purpose yards per game to go with three touchdowns. Defensively, freshman safety Joe Delaney leads the team with 35 tackles while senior defensive end Josh Jerrold is tops on the team and second in the conference with 4.0 sacks.
Head of the Class
With his 27-20 win over Moravian last season, Gettysburg head coach Barry Streeter picked up his 78th Centennial Conference victory, making him the all-time winningest coach in conference history. He passed former Franklin & Marshall coach Tom Gilburg, who won 77 games from 1983-2002. Streeter has gone 80-83-3 in Centennial play since the inception of the conference in 1983.

Streeter is also the longest-tenured and winningest football coach in Gettysburg history. He surpassed Hen Bream (1927-51), who coached for 22 seasons, in 2000. Streeter won his 105th career game against Muhlenberg in a 1995 to take over the career wins lead. Now in his 30th season as head coach, he has a 147-145-5 (.503) career record.
Scouting Ursinus
Ursinus brings the top-ranked rushing defense into today’s game, as the Bears have yielded just 76.0 yards per outing on the ground thus far. Ursinus has yet to allow a 100-yard rusher and has given up only two rushing touchdowns. The Bears have struggled against the pass, however, and have surrendered 268.3 yards per game through the air. Sophomore linebacker Joe Galie leads the defense with 24 tackles while junior linebacker Nate Mast has made 23 tackles, including 4.5 for loss and 2.0 sacks. Senior defensive lineman Adam Kabacinski has also made 4.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. Offensively, Ursinus ranks third in the conference in passing (185.0 ypg), and senior quarterback Nick Dye has yet to throw an interception. He ranks fourth in the league in total offense with 215.0 yards per game. Junior tailback Marc Jaskowski has averaged 83.0 yards rushing over two games while junior receiver Shea Wisler leads the team with 11 receptions for 139 yards. Senior punter Greg Zara has enjoyed a fine start to the season, averaging a conference-leading 38.4 yards per punt.
Ursinus is coached by Peter Gallagher, who is 33-41 in his eighth season with the Bears. He has guided Ursinus to back-to-back winning seasons, with the Bears going 15-6 over the last two years. He directed his team to a berth in the ECAC Southwest Bowl in 2006.
